Children & Youth Program Policies

Liability Waiver
All dancers are required to sign a liability waiver before participating in any activities at the studio.

Tuition Payment

Monthly tuition is due by the first class of each month. A late fee of $20 will be charged anytime thereafter. Payment is accepted in the form of cash, checks, and credit cards. We accept VISA and MASTERCARD.

Attendance

Students will progress and enjoy the classes most by attending on a regular basis. The studio expects to be notified if your child will be absent from class. Students are expected to make up missed classes by scheduling a private lesson with a studio instructor in order to make up the missed material.

Tuition will not be pro-rated or refunded for missed classes. Aria Ballroom will schedule make ups for studio-cancelled classes.

Required Attire

Students are expected to come to class with appropriate clothing and shoes, but should wear street clothes to and from the studio. We do not recommend wearing dance shoes outside, since concrete and asphalt will dramatically decrease the lifespan of your shoes.

  • Shoes
Boy and girls are both required to have two pairs of shoes, one for Latin and one for Standard.
  • Clothing
For boys, slacks and/or dance pants and a nice button-down shirt.
For girls, a skirt knee-high or shorter for Latin, calf-length or longer for Standard and a leotard. A form-fitting sweater is allowed.
  • Hair and Jewelry
Hair should be kept off the face. Long braids are not recommended. Jewelry is allowed, except for large hoop earrings and necklaces with beads and/or pearls, as these items pose a safety hazard.

Changing Room Etiquette

We ask that all students use the changing rooms for changing only. Please do not loiter within or in front of the changing rooms as there is limited space and we want all students to have quick and easy access to it. Out of courtesy to your fellow students, please keep your items organized and stowed away. Students are expected to pick up after themselves. If you choose to use a locker, please make sure to empty it prior to leaving the studio each day. All items left in the changing rooms will be placed in Lost & Found. Please see below for our Lost & Found policy. Any misbehavior in the changing rooms will not be tolerated.

Lost & Found

Aria Ballroom will keep a lost and found container or area. If you are missing something, please check there first. All lost and found items will be removed and donated at the end of each week. Please feel free to ask any one of the staff if you need assistance finding something since we are here most of the time. If we find an item of greater value (i.e. an iPod, wallet, cash, etc.) we will keep it locked up in the office. The weekly time frame applies to those items as well.

Food and Drink

Food and drink are not allowed in the ballroom under any circumstances. Dancers are permitted to snack in the reception area, and all students are expected to pick up after themselves. We recommend having a small snack 30 minutes prior to each class or lesson. A water bottle is also recommended and can be filled at the drinking fountains at Aria.

Electronic Devices

We ask that cell phones are put in silent mode upon entering the ballroom. No devices capable of taking photos or videos are permitted in the changing rooms.

Aria Ballroom Electronics

All electronics belonging to Aria Ballroom (computers, phones, monitors, TVs, etc.) are off-limits to students. Please do not use them without the express permission and supervision of the Aria Ballroom staff.
