While the start of summer may mean a break for some, Team Aria has been taking anything but! Our competitors have been kicking the summer off strong, competing across the map at both the Manhattan Dance Championships in New York and the Desert Classic Dancesport Championships in California.
Traveling all the way to Manhattan first, we had Bobbie Childers, Tracy Wort, Barb Simeona, and Noriko Sekine competing Pro-Am with Lukas and Simeon. While all ladies danced phenomenally, we wanted to call out their notable mentions:
Bobbie: Finished 2nd in both the Silver S2 4 Dance American Smooth Championship and the Silver S2 Scholarship for American Smooth
Tracy: Finished 3rd in both Gold C 4-Dance American Smooth Championship and the Gold C1 Scholarship for American Smooth
Barb: Finished 4th in the Bronze C 3-Dance American Smooth Championships and 3rd in the Bronze C1 Latin Scholarship.
Noriko: Finished 6th in the S2 Silver 4-Dance International Ballroom Championships
Our staff members had great success too, with Lukas and Eva finishing 1st in the Professional Rising Star Smooth
and Misha and Anya finishing 6th in the Adult Amateur International Ballroom Championship.
Traveling back to the west side of the United States, we followed up our adult pro-am dancers with several of our youth dancers in California! Our young dancers worked hard all weekend, and their best results were:
Lora with Dino: finished 3rd in the Amateur Adult PreChampionship for International Ballroom
Terence with Emma: finished 1st in the Amateur Teddy Bear Ballroom/Latin, and 4th in the Amateur Teddy Bear 3-Dance for International Latin.
Maya with Kai: Finished 1st in the Mixed Am Preteen International Ballroom Championship
And finally, Maya and Samantha tied for 2nd in the Solo Preteen 2 Newcomer International Cha Cha.
The weekend ended with our staff dancers again, with Adrian and Gabrielle finishing 1st in the Adult Amateur Cabaret.
We are so proud of all of our dancers for their hard work, and can’t wait to continue to see how #TeamAria progresses.
Congratulations to all of our competitors!
