Jose De la Torre

Originally from Mexico, Jose has been dancing since he was a kid, growing up surrounded by the vibrant rhythms of the 1990s. What started as something fun quickly turned into a real passion after his first salsa class in 2004. By 2011, he began taking his training more seriously and has been dedicated to learning and growing ever since.

Jose’s favorite styles to dance and teach include Salsa, Bachata, Cumbia, and Merengue—dances that not only connect him to his roots but also let him express himself in a meaningful way. In class, Jose loves creating an environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and staying engaged. He believes that teaching is a two-way street—those thoughtful questions often lead him to new insights and keep the learning going for everyone, including himself.

For Jose, dancing is more than just steps and music—it’s a way to share feelings, connect with others, and unwind. Whether it’s bringing joy, energy, or just a much-needed break from the day, dance has always been a big part of his life.
